Why work for us?

At Horizon, we live up to our values, and we value our people.  We are proud to be one of the most innovative providers of young people’s residential care and education in the UK.  Our success means that we are opening new residential homes and schools and making a difference for young people in a variety of new areas as well as continuing to support young people in our established services.

The role of Bank Teacher/Instructor is integral to the success of our HEAL programme. We are looking for teachers and instructors who want to make a difference to the lives of young people who have struggled in the formal school system. You need to be empathetic and creative in your approach to managing the learning of our sometimes hard to reach learners and be dedicated to making a difference.

This post will need you to be able to plan and prepare teaching resources and deliver them, on a one to one basis, with a student, in a non-school setting. This could be the student's home or other alternative premises. You will have support from the Head Teacher of HEAL and access to a range of resources to help deliver the HEAL programme. The role will be peripatetic, but it is likely that the successful candidate will be initially based at one of our schools.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and have an expectation that all staff share this commitment.  This post is subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS disclosure which will be met by the employer.
